Det Flyvende Teater brings art to life in unexpected places. Since 2021, we have made Billund Airport our home, the first theatre in the world based inside an international airport. We create performances at gates, in the terminal, and at baggage claim, alongside talks, workshops, dance, and site-specific events — offering moments of creativity, reflection, and calm amid the pace of travel.
For more than a decade, our projects have explored otherness and social roles — from politicians and police officers to paramedics and museum custodians — connecting art with everyday life and fostering community through shared cultural experiences. Based in the Triangle Region, Det Flyvende Teater is led by Giuseppe L. Bonifati and creative producer Linda Sugataghy. It brings together The Art Party, a locally rooted community project, and the international DOO performing arts group, drawing on over fifteen years of experience producing and presenting art in Denmark and abroad.
